Guide
DIFOT stands for Delivered In Full, On Time. It is the single most useful measure of how well a supply chain actually performs, and it is simpler than it sounds.
DIFOT scores each order on two things: did it arrive complete (in full), and did it arrive when it was meant to (on time). An order only counts as a DIFOT success if it meets both. Miss either, and it counts against you.
DIFOT is the percentage of orders that were both in full and on time over a period. If 95 of 100 deliveries were complete and on time, your DIFOT is 95 percent. Because it is all-or-nothing per order, it is an honest measure that is hard to game.
For food service, retail and manufacturers, a missed or short delivery means empty shelves, lost sales and unhappy customers. Tracking DIFOT turns delivery performance into a number you can manage and improve, rather than a gut feel.
At Carisbrook, DIFOT is measured automatically on every order. Misses are flagged with a reason at the point of delivery, so there is nowhere for problems to hide and a clear path to fixing them.
FAQ
Delivered In Full, On Time. An order must arrive both complete and on schedule to count as a DIFOT success.
It varies by industry, but many supply chains aim for 95 percent or higher. The right target depends on your product and customers.
On-time delivery only measures timing. DIFOT also requires the order to be complete, so it is a stricter, more meaningful measure.
